As therapists, we know that meeting the identified goals couples have, like bettering communication and increasing physical and emotional intimacy are often the result of a deeper, more authentic and respectful connection between two people. Couples inherently know they want these things in their relationship but walking with them toward these goals can be like trying to find your way in the dark. Without a clear sense of purpose and intention, unforeseen challenges, triggers and upsets that come out of nowhere can knock us way off course. Even if both partners want to work together to better their relationship, it can be difficult to get to the space where change starts to occur – and lasts – on both a behavioral and systemic level, one that feels truly transformative for both partners. Consciously Aware Couples Therapy: Integrating Existential and Transpersonal Therapy With Couples can be the difference between quick fixes and finding a few common interests and a deeper, more significant sense of connection, and lasting change. Read More
