Course Description: 

This course guides professionals in assessing and applying proven strategies that are effective with ADHD Sleep problems.  Practitioners will be able to help clients with ADHD symptoms of all ages (including young children and teens) get on track with better sleep outcomes. The program will introduce you to a professional model of practice to assist practitioners formulate assessments, take a holistic approach to care, promote parent and child collaboration, and apply clinically proven interventions.  The focus of this program is on behavioural sleep concerns. The course will also help you identify the most common medical and physical sleep concerns for ADHD clients and how to work with a multidisciplinary approach.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn how to describe 3 behavioural sleep issues seen in ADHD children and adolescence.
  • Identify the difference between insomnia and dyssomnia.
  • Learn the ability to prepare an assessment of sleep issues in ADHD child.
  • Develop the skills to formulate hypothesis for ADHD presenting child with sleep issues.
  • Apply appropriate evidence-informed interventions.

About the Speaker

For nearly ten years, Kel has been visiting families in their homes. Kel began specialising in behavioural sleep interventions in 2012 and further to this, she teaches her approach to professionals through founding the Institute of Sensitive Sleep Consulting after identifying a need in the industry to underpin attachment theory into the curriculum. She has trained consultants all over the globe. Kel was the Australian Representative for the International Association of Child Sleep Consultants, a published contributor to the International Maternity & Parenting Institute and a featured Wisdom Expert for the Birth Institute. She also has a background as a Children’s Ministry Leader (ages 1-10 years). Kel currently directs in private practice supporting young clients with disability and mental health issues. ​

Kel and her husband live on the Gold Coast, Australia with their little boy and girl.

The participant must pass the multiple-choice test with a minimum score of 80%. There is a maximum of three attempts to achieve this.
