Looking at any work which involves dealing with people or situations that are emotionally challenging and potentially traumatic to anyone involved. Also looking at how to manage our stress in the workplace and be aware of the indicators of deteriorating mental health.

Research shows that increasing numbers of us feel that we are having to work ‘very hard’. Work intensification seems to be a widespread phenomenon, and businesses recognise the need to get the best out of staff without causing illness or harm. In the current climate pressure, stress and anxiety have increased considerably so helping staff manage and cultivate better mental health is essential in work and for life in general.

This webinar looks at some of the tools to help you to stay on top of things, reduce stress, frustration and anxiety through the concepts of Emotional Intelligence, Emotional Regulation, Compassion and Positive Psychology principles. We hear a lot about these terms but what do they really mean and more importantly how do we apply them to ourselves or help others to apply them. Resilience is not about getting more out of people it is helping them to cope better with all of the modern pressures of work and life through a number of key ideas and concepts.

About Ken Way

Ken Way is a highly experienced coach and trainer with over 30 years experience.

With a degree in Psychology and qualifications in Coaching, Training and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) he has extensive experience which shows through in all of the programmes he delivers. Having started his career as a sports psychologist, completing projects for the UK Government’s Sports Council, amongst others, he has gone on to work in industry in roles as diverse as production, marketing and training. On returning to his original field of psychology he added qualifications in psychotherapy and related fields to specialise in coaching and training.

Ken’s approach benefits from his considerable experience which means he is able to call upon models and theories from a wide range of interpersonal, management and leadership programmes – for example: influencing, building relationships, developing impact and presence, listening, building confidence, leading effective teams, motivation, non-verbal impact, strategy implementation, handling conflict, energising and inspiring others and many more.

Some coaching assignments reveal that it is difficult to separate work issues from personal life – they impact on one another. Where appropriate (and obviously with permission) the coaching and training approach may therefore focus on life outside of work. It is here that Ken’s qualifications in psychology and psychotherapy really count – helping individuals, teams and organisations to see beyond the obvious. His experience as a sports psychologist also adds a level of expertise and a dimension that many who have trained and worked with Ken really appreciate.

As a long time associate within ITC Consultancy Ken has both developed and delivered many exciting and appealing programmes making him a trainer who is well appreciated by all who work with him.
