The second of a 2-part course – attendance on part 1 is essential. This 2-part course and supporting resources help managers and HR professionals to deal with people and behaviour that goes well beyond the average difficult or awkward, looking at those who manipulate and control others at all levels of the organisation and take up an excessive amount of time with issues. Difficult staff behaviour is a growing problem for all Organisations. As well as continuous demands from customers and clients more problems develop within the workplace due to often extreme persistent and difficult staff behaviour at all levels.

These two modules are not purely about bullying or difficult behaviour but seeks to help staff and managers understand excessive persistent difficult behaviour from staff in the workplace and ways to handle it more effectively. When dealing with persistent and difficult staff behaviour it is vital to approach from two perspectives; an organisational and interpersonal perspective; neither one alone is as effective as both utilised together.

In this world of ever increasing demands and targets coupled with an ever- decreasing level of staff, handling ongoing staff issues effectively is essential to maximise individual, team and organisational effective practice.

EDB 2 Workshop aims – This workshop is a follow-up to the initial workshop and should only be attended if you have done EDB1. It seeks to give participants the opportunity to look at core management skills through a real life case study and use of the action matrix which is a management tool specifically designed to help deal with EDBs in the workplace.
